Meet The Staff!

Portia Propst - Director, 1985 Graduate from RJ Reynolds High School.  Portia
graduated from NC State  1989 w/a degree in business management.  She
opened Central Carolina Gymnastics in August 1992.  Portia started gymnastics
when she was 6 years old, competed to a National Level in High School and
received a gymnastics scholarship to NC State.  Nationally ranked Junior
Olympic and NCAA Gymnastics Official.  Portia is involved with Special
Olympics, recipient of the Governor's Award for outstanding volunteer service
and she was recognized by the Chamber of Commerce as an outstanding
business leader.  Portia has two children, Haley 20, who received a full
gymnastics scholarship to the University of Pittsburgh and Kellan 1
6, who's
actively involved with Soccer, Basketball and Golf.
 

Lisa Wilson - 1994 graduate of North Davidson High School. She's a 97 graduate of
Davidson County Community College with a degree in Computer Science. Lisa
started coaching in May of 1996.  She loves teaching Tumbling classes and her
favorite event is Floor.  She has a passion for working out, shopping and spending
time with family and friends.

Jackie Rhodes -  1989 Graduate from NCSU with a degree in Zoology.  Jackie is
in her 13th year of coaching gymnastics and her favorite event is bars. She
loves to teach preschool and team kids.  Jackie has two girls, loves baseball (Red
Sox), pasta, dogs and loves to listen to 80's music.
Abbie Lanham - 2010 Graduate of Central Davidson.  Abbie loves to shop, swim,
exercise, as well as spending time with her husband and baby girl Chloe. Abbie
has been apart of CCG since she was 3yrs old.  She qualified for 3 Jr. Olympic
Nationals and made it to a level 10 gymnast. Her favorite gymnastics class is
team.

Sarah Slate - 2010 graduate of North Davidson and attending Gardner Web with
her deg
ree of study being Spanish. Sarah has taken gymnastics for 11 yrs and
loves teaching tumbling. Sarah wants to be a high school Spanish teacher and
coach Cheerleading. She loves spending time with family and friends.
Donna Hughes - 1990 Graduate from Southwestern Randolph and a 1995
Graduate of High Point University with a B.A degree in History.  Donna also has a
North Carolina Real Estate License.  She enjoys teaching the team kids and has
coached for 22 years.  Her long term career goals are to retire without having a
knee replacement. LOL! When Donna is not coaching she loves to sing, ride horses
and loves arts an crafts.
Britany Hockley - 2009 graduate of East Davidson. Started gymnastics at age 2
with Central Carolina. Britany joined our family of instructors in 2010.  Her
favorite event is floor and she loves coaching team and Mighty Hoppers.  She
enjoys going to the movies and shopping.
Katie Hockley -  Junior at East Davidson.  She joined the CCG staff in August of
2012.  Her favorite event is beam and she enjoys teaching Tumbling &
Trampoline!  Outside of work Katie enjoys spending time with friends and
talking on the phone!
Tori Rhodes: Is a graduate of Central Davidson and a student at NC State,
majoring in elementary education.  Tori loves teaching bars and has be
en
apart of Central Carolina since she was 2yrs old.  Outside of work she
enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Forrest and with friends and
family!  She loves playing tennis.
 
Casey Thomason - 2010 Graduate of North Davidson High School.  Currently
attending Guilford Technical Community College majoring in Dental Hygiene.  
Casey loves to showing horses, and pretty much anything with horses.  Her
favorite event is floor.
Carrie Wilson -  2013 Graduate of West Davidson. She is currently attending
Davidson County Community College, majoring in Physical Therapy.  Carries
started gymnastics as a preschooler and competed for 4 years.  She has coached
gymnastics with CCG for 2 years.  Her favorite event is bars.
Amber Decker - 2005 graduate of West Davidson - Graduate of Davidson County
Community College with an Associates Degree in Business.  Amber started
gymnastics when she was 4yrs old and competed 10 years to a level 8 gymnast.  
She loves  spending time with her daughter (Macie Kate), and family.  She enjoys
making several trips a year to the beach. She loves teaching team and preschool
classes. Her favorite event is floor.
